
Ingredients:
- 1 medium red cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the red cabbage and apples to the pot, stirring to combine.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar, sugar, and water. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour or until the cabbage is tender and the flavors have melded. Stir occasionally and add more water if necessary.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm as a side dish.
