Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb banana peppers, sliced into rings
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional: pinch of mustard seeds or red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Pack sliced peppers into a clean glass jar.
  2. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, garlic, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour hot liquid over peppers, covering them completely.
  4. Seal the jar and let cool to room temperature.
  5. Refrigerate and let sit for at least 24 hours before eating.
