Golden Delicious apples are pale green to golden yellowish in color and marked with small spots. Usually coming in small to medium in size, they also tend to be less round and even oblong in shape. These apples are crisp, firm, and have a white inner flesh. Golden Delicious have a well balanced sweet-tart aromatic flavor, that can be described as honeyed. The flavor has been known to vary depending on where the apples are grown; in a cooler climate, the amount of acid increases, creating a sweeter flavor. While grown in warmer areas, their acid content is lower, creating a milder flavor.
