Easy Pickled Red Onions

Servings: 1 pint jar

Ingredients:

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional: black peppercorns, garlic, chili flakes

Instructions:

  1. Place sliced onions in a clean glass jar.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat vinegar, water, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  3. Pour hot brine over onions to cover.
  4. Add optional flavorings.
  5. Let cool, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (best after 2+ hours).
