Servings: 1 pint jar
Ingredients:
- 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Optional: black peppercorns, garlic, chili flakes
Instructions:
- Place sliced onions in a clean glass jar.
- In a small saucepan, heat vinegar, water, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
- Pour hot brine over onions to cover.
- Add optional flavorings.
- Let cool, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (best after 2+ hours).
