Nopales a la Mexicana

Recipe Name: Sautéed Nopales with Tomato, Onion & Jalapeño

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb nopales, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: fresh cilantro and lime juice

Instructions:

  1. Rinse nopales thoroughly. Simmer in water for 8–10 minutes to reduce slime, then drain.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil and sauté onion and jalapeño until softened.
  3. Add tomato and cook 3 minutes.
  4. Add drained nopales and sauté 5 more minutes.
  5. Season with salt and top with cilantro and lime if desired.
