
Recipe Name: Spiced Red Wine Poached Bosc Pears

Ingredients:
- 4 ripe but firm Bosc pears, peeled, stems intact
- 1 bottle (750ml) red wine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: orange peel or cloves
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, star anise, vanilla, and optional aromatics. Bring to a simmer.
- Add pears and cover. Simmer 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally.
- Remove pears and boil remaining liquid until slightly thickened.
- Serve pears drizzled with the warm wine syrup.
