Author:

Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully remove the leaves from the cabbage head, trying to keep them intact. Blanch the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  4. Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll up the leaf to enclose the filling. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls in a baking dish and cover with tomato sauce.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 1 hour, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
